Description
This attractive medal (jewel or badge) is a souvenir of the State Conclave of the Ohio Knights Templar, which was held in Toledo, Ohio, in September 1897 (indicated on the item). The cross-shaped pinback bar (attachment pin with hook-type catch) identifies the owner as a member of Reed Commandery No. 6 (of Dayton). The lower medallion (fob) has the Conclave information. There is nomark for the manufacturer of this item. This medal/fob is composed of non-magnetic metal (likely brass), and it appears to have been made with a gilt surface treatment. The item
measures approximately 32 x 74 mm (1-1/4 x 1-7/8").
This item is in very fine condition, with very light wear, limited signs of handling, and toning. It remains fairly bright, with hints of gold color.
