Description
British miniature medal bar, C.B.E., Knights of Malta Commander, + to Australian. Very nice miniature group to Captain Edward J. Brighton who served in WWII in the 2nd Medium Rgt. Royal Australian Artillery. After the war he was a prominent banker with the Bank of Australia. Bar includes the C.B.E. (Civil) Commander, 39-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal, Australian Service Medal, and The Order of the Knights of Malta, (Civil) Commander Grade. He was awarded the C.B.E. in 1982, and includes the original C.B.E. citation with letterhead of the Governor-General of Australia. It appears he was awarded the Maltese Order for philanthropic work for the Order. The grouping is a nice 1980's period top quality jeweler mounting showing only minor wear. Also includes a lapel pin for the C.B.E. and another pin for the breast star of the Knights of Malta. With some research. The original large grouping was sold separately and its whereabouts are unknown.
