NOS GM 75 76 Chevy Caprice LH Taillight Lamp aluminum insert bezel trim READ!!!

New old stock GM part# 5966647 (Guide casting# 5966509) LH (driver side) taillight surround/bezel for 1975 and 1976 Chevy Caprice except wagons.  We found this loose, on a shelf in an old Chevrolet/Oldsmobile dealership.  It has some issues but is exceptionally hard to find anymore - read next paragraph before buying so you know condition issues before buying.
Issues we see with this item: The flat silver/gray color is worn & scratched in numerous places. Please see photos #6 & 7 for the paint missing in the worst examples.  Please look at photo #11 for what we are not sure is a cut in the aluminum or if this was intentionally made with this split.  The flat silver/gray paint covers that split, so we do not think this is a flaw - it looks intentional to us.  But, if you are looking at this, you already know more than we do.  The polished areas around the lens openings look fine  considering this is GM's 1970's production. This piece was made in very thin aluminum and we are sure you can find a few more minor flaws in it, but we are very surprised it has survived this long without major dents and dings.  To us, if you sand down the flat paint areas and repaint it, then, polish up the unpainted areas, this piece will look very nice once mounted on the car.
